And Why You Haven’t Heard from Me.
Since we got home from Africa I feel like my life is on fast forward. Mac is not just walking he’s running! When we met at the airport he walked to us all on his own. It’s incredible to me that once he finally meets his milestones, he masters ’em! Must be part of his personality…and I’m hoping it’s not perfectionism coming from his mama and da!
I’ve also decided to go back to school which I am very excited about. I will be doing a 10 month certificate for web design. I have been interested in this program for forever it seems. I have such a desire to have a creative outlet and something that builds on my marketing background. I know I need to be at home with Mac right now but I also need something to feed the part of me that isn’t utilized by being home. God created me with strong desires to be both outside and inside the home. I want to have a current skill set by the time I am ready to go back and maybe do some volunteer work and freelance work in the meantime.
One of the most amazing things to me about visiting orphan homes in Ethiopia was how much these kids, really young kids, value their education. I think back on how much I took mine for granted. They however would jump at the opportunity to go to school, and especially university. This was a part of the reason I finally jumped and signed up for this program.
Other things keeping me busy…Bible study, MOPs and my husband’s family visiting for Easter. All good things and I am savoring this time. (Hopefully, you won’t hear me complain about being over committed later!)
