Not to the same degree as usual but we have a big tree up and a little Jesse tree up.
That’s what’s most important to M.
What’s important to me is keeping it simple, yet special. I want a meaningful and memorable Christmas.
I’ve tried several different Advent guides in the last few years but this book is by far my favorite.
It was a gift from my sister last year. I love how engaged M is this year. It might be that his attention span is longer and he’s now old enough to learn the story of Christmas.
In the Advent Jesse Tree book each of the 25 days leading up to Christmas have a short devotional reading, some questions and a prayer. Each day there is a different Christmas ornament symbolizing the reading for that day. M plays with it while he’s listening to the story then he puts it on this little tree.
We were watching the Charlie Brown Christmas special the other night and M suddenly burst out, “I know what Christmas is all about. It’s all about Jesus! God’s son.”
