This book, Sun Shine Down, is written by one amazing momma. Gillian Marchenko is incredibly authentic and communicates her story of having a daughter with Down Syndrome, not once but twice, beautifully in this book. It’s a memoir and I’m a sucker for memoirs. I think you’ll enjoy it too.
Even though far less prevalent, maybe someday Cri du Chat Syndrome will have more positive awareness. As I was reading this book, I felt that just as a fellow parent told Gillian, “One day the sun will shine again,” that’s what she was telling me through her story. There have been lots of cloudy days and we can’t always see the sun, but we believe it’s there and will one day shine again.
