Today I’m posting on PreemieBabies101 about Three Things to Do When Given a Special Needs Diagnosis at Birth. It’s meant for new mommas of special needs babies but it I think it can apply to anyone dealing with an unexpected, life-altering reality, especially as it relates to your kids. It outlines practical ways of coping with something hard.
There is a spiritual response that I failed to mention. I believe the most important response to dealing with something hard is leaning into God’s grace and letting Him work through your weakness. This one verse sums it up perfectly:
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 1 Cor 12:9
So may we not just cope with hard things, but through them, allow our weaknesses to become His greatest strength.
