Out of My Mind is a story full of ups and downs in the life of a little girl with significant disabilities. You find yourself cheering for her when others discover her hidden intelligence. And grieving with her when her classmates exclude and reject her for her differences.
This was a great read, and it would have been so much better if it was a true story. It was believable as fiction, I wish it was written by a real life character to fully understand the full scope of her thoughts and feelings. That would be even more inspirational to me as a special needs mom. Also the ending was a bit abrupt. Sorry to say. I hope that doesn’t keep you from reading it because it is a good one. And it’s an especially good one for your school aged children to read.
