We all three went to the HEB together!
This is a big milestone for N. Lately I’ve been grocery shopping on the evenings and weekends so that I don’t have to take both boys. However, this Monday morning we tackled the job together. M was such a good helper just like old times. I told him he needed to tell N all about what happens at the grocery store so he chatted to him throughout the whole trip. He didn’t even throw a single food item on N even though he was in a very tempting and vulnerable position.
There were groceries everywhere because N took up most of the room in the basket. It will be another big milestone when he’s sitting well enough that I can put him in the seat. We are celebrating this small victory though. I got everything on my list, no one melted down, and I didn’t race through the store. A year ago you would have never heard me being grateful about a grocery shopping trip. This little boy is using small things to change me in big ways.
And did you notice that baby food in the cart? No, oral eating but we are making a little progress with what is going in his tummy. More about that later.
“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1Thess 5:18
