A Summer of Pirates, Super Heroes, and Swimming

Last week was especially busy.

M went to pre-school Pirate Camp all week long. Then we attended the “Meet the Super Heroes” Cri du Chat conference in San Antonio last weekend. The conference was held at one of our all time favorite hotels, the Hyatt Hill Country so of course we swam around the lazy river lots too.

Those are the recurring themes for this summer – pirates, super heroes, and swimming. It’s been fun and all, but is it over yet? Cause this Pirate-Super momma is ready to trade in her swim suit for some jeans and get right back in the car pool line!

Here are some photos to show you what we’ve been up to. I’m still processing everything that we saw, heard, and learned about this past weekend at the conference. More details to come.

A couple of months ago my sister told me, “Just keep moving Kath. A body in motion tends to stay in motion.” That has stuck with me all summer long. I’ve needed the momentum. Now we’re off to M’s first karate class. My hope is that it will help get us through this last stretch of summer. The summer of pirates, super heroes, swimming,…and karate!

My book, Beauty in Broken Dreams: A Hopeful Handbook for the Early Years as a Special Needs Parent, is now available on Amazon!
